Sender mail - how to dynamically change Folder for Deleted Messages

$

0

Hi,

in a mail2abapproxy scenario on SAP PI, the requirement is to automatically archive the processed mails in a different folder in the mailbox depending on processing date. For instance mails processed on 24-01-2015 should be moved into "201501" folder, mails processed on 01-02-2015 should be moved into "201502" and so on. Assumption: folders are already created in the mailbox.

Thanks for a solution.

Stefano

Strange behaviour of PO 7.4.

Hi Experts ,

I have experienced 2 different strange behaviours in my  project , and it is bothering me a lot.

1. I have noticed , at times the normal FTP sender channel which picks up files from external stores , stops polling files from the stores at times without nay reason . There is no connectivity issue , and channel status for all the nodes is fine and green and ping status is perfect .  The same channel when stopped and started , it starts picking up the file .  I have enquired with network team and there has been no changes. I am really clueless, as I am not able to answer customer what is wrong with the channel .

2. in PO 7.4 , when the receiver channels are stopped for maintenance reason and messages stack up in message monitoring as system error, I was under the impression that once I turn on the channel after 2 days , I would resend the messages in a controlled manner. But I noticed , though I am able to do so , but messages are getting auto processed in message mapping and going to target system , without my control.

Are there the normal behaviour of PO 7.4 single stack  or there is some setting that I am missing .

Thanks and Regards,

Arnab.

Re: Disconnecting OLD PI system & Connecting ECC to new PI system (via Proxy)

Hi Gurus

We are correctly on PI 7.1 which is connected to ECC for PROXY communication.

However, we have a new PI 7.3 and would like to disconnect PI 7.1 and connect it to the new PI 7.3.

Can you please let me know - Best practice to disconnect old PI Box -

  • Is it just deleting the RFC and removing config from SXMB_ADM ?!
  • Would the below steps cover all the necessary config to connect the new PI 7.3 environment to ECC
    • SLD Entries in PI
    • SM59 HTTP Connections
    • SXMB_ADM Config
    • SLDCHECK

Please, ADD anything I might have missed!!

Your help is greatly appreciated!!

Thank you,

Ritu

Soap Call retrieving document from FTP Server

Hi

I have a specific scenario I need help with.

I need to be able to return a PDF document as an attachment from a SOAP call. This part is simple as we know SOAP supports attachments.

My problem is actually retrieving the document. The web service call will provide me with the name of the document and I have to retrieve it from a FTP server. The only way I can do this is with the FILE/FTP Sender Adapter and I don't think this is possible.

Any suggestions to do this without using BPM?

Regards

Rob Warde

Best transport options in SAP PI 7.31 single stack

$

Hello everybody,

We are going to finished the installation of new SAP PI 7.31 + BPM (SAP PO) single stack. I have a doubt refered how to choose the correct architecture of transports.

Before it was possible to choose several types of installations (File transport or CTS+ or CMS).

For me CTS+ is the best choice for transport PI objects but now I think the best installation should be CTS+ and NWDI. NWDI for transport iflows and module adapters and CTS+ for standard PI Objects.

At this point I have the following questions:

  -  Is posible to use CTS+ in NWDS?

  -  Must CTS+ be configured in SAP Solution Manager?

  -  For integration flows, how can I transport those objects? If they are java deployed objects I supposed that NWDI should be used. Is ok this assumption?

I didn't found any information in SDN.

Best regards and thank you in advanced

NWDS BPM Notification - Variable Type

Hi NWDS BPM Experts,

I'm creating an email notification and I need to send a table in the message body.  When I create a variable, the variable type in automatically set to string.  Based on SAP Help I should be able to change the variable type but the dropdown is not abailable, I cannot change the type.  Would you have an idea how to do this?

Sap help:

pecify the E-mail Subject and Text

When you specify the subject and text of the e-mail, you can optionally use variables to provide them with dynamic content from the process context.

1. In the Properties view of the notification, open the Mail tab page.

2. Specify the necessary text in the Subject and Message fields under Parameterized Texts .

3. (Optional) Choose the Add pushbutton under Variables to add a variable.

The system automatically fills in values in the Name and Type fields, which you can edit. You define an expression with the expression editor.

4. Select the value in the Name field to rename the variable.

Caution

You can only use the letters A-Z, the numerals 0-9, and an underscore (_) in the variable name.

5. Select a type of the variable from the Type dropdown menu if you want to change the type that was filled in automatically.

You must set a type before you create an expression.

6. Choose the Edit... pushbutton to define an expression in the expression editor. Choose the OK pushbutton.

My scenario is SFTP to IDoc_AAE. It is a pass through Interface. I am getting IDoc flat file at SFTP sender side, which I am trying to convert into XML using the module IDOCFlatToXmlConvertor module. The issue I am facing is since parent-child relationship is missing, it's failing. Any workarounds ?

What’s new in SAP Process Orchestration 7.31 SP14 / 7.4 SP09

The latest SP of SAP Process Orchestration 7.31 / 7.4 has been available since end of last year. So it's about time to show you what features and enhancements we have shipped. I'm sure you will like it.

New CTC template for SLD self registration

There might be situations where you need to re-run the SLD self registration of your SAP Process Orchestration system, e.g., your current registration became inconsistent, or the configuration requires changes. With the new CTC template in the NetWeaver Administrator, you can re-register all components of an Advanced Adapter Engine Extended (AEX) or SAP Process Orchestration (PO) in the SLD. You can also use this wizard to connect the AEX/PO to another (central) SLD as part of the post-installation process. See also SAP note 2034226.

01 CTC.png

Receiver Rules in Integration Flows

Having shipped the support for Receiver Rules in Integrated Configuration Objects with 7.31 SP13 / 7.4 SP08, we now support Receiver Rules also within Integration Flows with one SP delay. Receiver Rules are re-usable xpath conditions to determine the recipients of the incoming messages. In the Process Integration Designer perspective of the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio, you can create, read, change, and cancel Receiver Rules. You can also access all rules that have been previously created within the Integration Directory. In order to use the rules in Integration Flows, a new routing technique has been introduced. On the Routing Behaviour tab, choose Use Receiver Rules, and add one or more rules.

02 Receiver Rules.png

Supporting multiple mail attachments for sender mail adapter

So far, when reading mails from a mail server containing multiple attachments, the sender mail adapter only supported the creation of one single PI message whereas the mail attachments were attached to the PI message. By adding the module XIMailAdapterModule into the module chain of the sender mail adapter, you can process each attachment as separate PI message. Depending on the chosen settings, you can either create PI messages for all attachments and the actual payload of the mail or for the attachments only ignoring the payload. See also SAP note 2040884.

04 mail.png

Extended EOIO handling

For messages that need to be processed in a specific order, e.g., a purchase order needs to be processed before a change order, the Quality of Service (QoS) Exactly Once in Order (EOIO) is guaranteed by putting all messages on hold as long as the respective predecessor hasn't reached a final status. EOIO messages that went into an error need to be handled manually to resolve the error and to resume the queue processing. There might be situations where you rather would accept the violation of the EOIO delivery in order to avoid blocking queues, e.g., for messages that repeatedly fail during message delivery. In this case, we have introduced a new feature that allows you to automatically remove erronous messages from the EOIO queues so that the sequences can be continued. The exception handling can be configured individually per serialization context. You have two options either move the failed message to an error queue or remove it from the queue hence changing the QoS from EOIO to EO.

05 EOIO.png

New adapter for REST based services

A new adapter has been delivered for the provisioning and consumption of REST (Representational State Transfer) based services. It runs on the Adapter Engine and hence is supported on both PI Dual stack and Process Orchestration. We have recently published a series of blogs explaining the concepts of the adapter as well as selected features along sample scenarios, so I keep it short here and would refer to the blog series overview page. If you like to learn what is planned beyond the first shipment, see also my announcement from last year.
06 REST.png

Monitoring enhancements

The Message Flow Monitor in SAP Solution Manager allows you to track messages from end-to-end. So far, only asynchronous scenarios were supported. We have enhanced the data collector in SAP Process Orchestration to support the monitoring of synchronous scenarios. Prerequisite is that you have switched on the logging of the respective synchronous messages. Besides this, we have introduced a new status Application Error for messages that were processed successfully on the adapter engine however went into an application error in the backend. You can search for messages that resulted into an application error, and the new status is displayed in the local message monitoring as well as in the Message Flow Monitor. Furtehrmore, you can trigger alerts in case of application errors.

07 MFM.png

Enhancements of the copy and resend of successful messages feature

In the previous What's new blog for 7.31 SP13 / 7.4 SP08, we have introduced a new feature that allows you to copy and re-send already successfully processed messages. This is required for retrieving lost messages within your receiving backend system in case that a recovery is not otherwise possible. With the previous shipment, only copy and immediate send was supported. With the enhancement, copy only is added. This new option allows you to create a copy of the successful processed message so that you have the chance to edit the copied message before sending. Note that this feature needs to be handled cautiously since it potentially violates the Exactly Once delivery. So, I would like to stress that for performing this action you need a specific user role.

08 Copy.png

Further BPM OData services

The BPM OData services have been initially introduced with 7.31 SP09 / 7.4 SP04, and since then continously enhanced. The OData services provide you a simplified access to BPM processes and process instances to build your own custom interfaces. The current enhancements target the administrator role helping to build custom UIs for process administration and test automation by adding support for query a collection of process instances, cancel, suspend, and resume process instances. You can explore the supported OData services on your Process Orchestration system calling http://<host>:<port>/bpmodata. For more details about the BPM OData services, refer to the Custom UIs with the BPM OData service blog on SCN.

10 BPMOData.png

Improvements of the Claim Check pattern

The Claim Check pattern allows you to handle large message sizes within your BPM processes. You actually do not load the complete large payload into the BPM process context, instead you store the large payload outside of BPM and keep a reference to the data in the context. This ensures that the size of the process context is kept to a minimum. The Claim Check pattern is often used together with the Aggregation pattern where a number of incoming messages are collected and aggregated into a bulk message. In the Claim Check implementation so far, only the references were collected and kept within the process context, however the very last step within your BPM process required the complete large payload to be retrieved from the staging and put into the process context. This has been changed with the new and improved implementation. Now, the data retrieval and actual aggregation happens outside of the BPM process context leading to an improved runtime performance. Besides this, the enrichment of the data in the BPM process context is supported.

Hope this made you curious. For more details of all new 7.31 SP14 / 7.4 SP09 features, check out the release notes.

Process Orchestration - Configuration Wizard "Process Integration and Orchestration Package" shows running

Hi SAP Gurus,

I have installed an SAP PO system and am running the Config Wizard from NWA. The functional unit I have selected from NWA is - "Process Integration and Orchestration Package". This functional unit has in turn selected few more functional units like AEX, SLD. The issue that I am facing is that the wizard does not appear for my inputs and it shows that the selected wizards are running. Please see attachment "config_wizard_running.jpeg"

I read some forums and found a thread where in it was mentioned how to stop the config wizard and restart it. http://scn.sap.com/thread/1422958

Even after restarting my server, the functional units are still showing as running in NWA --> Configuration --> Scenarios --> Configuration Wizard --> Functional Unit Configuration UI. Please see attachment "Config_wizard_stuck.jpeg"

I restarted the application as suggested in the post so that I could run Config Wizard again. But its now allowing me to start it as the status is Running.

Please suggest.

Regards,

Amit

Can not change vendor when creating a new Development Component in NWDS

Dear friends,

Im trying to create a new Development Component in NWDS. Our NWDS is connected to NWDI and we are using CM Services option of NWDI.

Before I could create a DC and change the vendor but now I cant change it anymore. Now, the vendor is by default sap.com and we cant change it and it seems that we also have to put our project in a separate directory. home/ directory or other directories in the list.

See below screen shots...

If I make a new DC than we see it like this: home/bpm_test [sap.com].

1.jpg

2.jpg

If I make a new DC in my LocalDevelopment I can change the vendor and I dont have to choose a home directory.

3.jpg

Do you have any idea how to change that?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance,
